Verónica Rodrigo from ViveLibre inaugurates the First National Forum on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities with a presentation on Artificial Intelligence

On October 14, 2024, Verónica Rodrigo, Head of Communications and Marketing at ViveLibre, delivered the opening presentation at the First National Forum on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, organized by The Observatory of the Rights of Persons of the Barcelona Bar Association (ICAB) and the I+DRET Institute.

In her speech, titled “Beyond New Technologies: How Artificial Intelligence Can Facilitate the Lives of People with Disabilities,” Verónica Rodrigo highlighted ViveLibre’s commitment to improving the quality of life for dependent or disabled individuals through AI-based technological solutions at the ICAB headquarters. Verónica Rodrigo explained how AI is enabling ViveLibre to develop personalized assistance systems that promote autonomy, safety, and well-being for users, with a special focus on the advanced telecare services offered by the company.

“Artificial intelligence is not just a tool; it is a gateway to inclusion and equality for people with disabilities. ViveLibre has been committed from the start to developing an intelligent system to support clinical decision-making,” she stated. The audience, composed of representatives from the legal, political, social, and business sectors, applauded his speech.

The forum was inaugurated by the Dean of the ICAB, Jesús Sánchez, along with Marta Martínez Gellida, President of the Consell de l’Advocacia Catalana (CICAC), and Raúl Moreno Montaña, Secretary General for Social Rights of the Generalitat de Catalunya. These figures emphasized the importance of this event as a space for reflection and action to ensure equity and the rights of people with disabilities in all areas, from access to justice to labor and social inclusion.

The forum also featured the participation of other speakers, including Javier Hernández, judge of the 2nd Chamber of the Supreme Court, Fernando Santos, a prosecutor specializing in disability, and Mª Jesús Pesqueira, director of the I+DRET Institute. They all addressed various critical aspects related to criminal law, inclusive employment, and public services aimed at people with disabilities.
