From 12 to 15 October, the congress of the European Association of Service Providers for People with Disabilities (EASPD), which represents more than 20,000 groups of support services for people with disabilities throughout Europe and of which ATAM is a member, was held in Malta.
With the slogan “Quality of life and support services: from words to action” nearly 200 people from different organisations have been learning about and assessing diverse models that focus on improving the quality of life of the people they support. They also discussed the different ways of moving towards higher quality support patterns, centred on the person and in line with the principles of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
The main objective of this congress was to learn about different working models from experts from all over Europe, which also brought together people from various organizations that are developing projects or initiatives of interest.
Topics such as the European Care Certificate, person-centered planning models or the quality and accessibility of services, both in-person and remote, have focused the debate that has been delved into at the meeting of this latest edition of EASPD.
